Guide Background

Necrolyte Cyst is a key material for making Strong Acid. The route starts at the life raft and leads through the giant monolith area, down a ravine, and into the current that carries you toward the old colonist settlement. If you do not have upgraded oxygen capacity yet, be ready to surface or stop for air along the way.

Operation Steps

Step 1: Leave the Life Raft and Head for the Giant Monolith

Start from the life raft and move toward the giant monolith, the massive growing tree-like structure that stands out from a distance.

As you cross this area, you will pass the location where you get the angel-like tree used to digest different food types. Keep moving past it toward the outer base area.

Step 2: Move Toward the Far Edge Base and Turn Left

Push into the middle of the region toward one of the far edge bases. Once you reach that side, turn left and continue along the route.

The main landmark you want next is a small ravine leading downward beside broken rubble.

Step 3: Drop into the Ravine and Follow the Whirlpool

Find the ravine and descend. It runs along the side of broken debris and feeds directly into a whirlpool current.

Follow the current all the way through. If your oxygen is still limited, make sure you plan for a quick air stop before going too deep.

Step 4: Reach Welcome Home Base and Refill Oxygen

The current leads to the broken settlement where the original colonists used to live, marked as Welcome Home Base.

Stop here briefly to recover oxygen before searching the harvest spot.

Step 5: Harvest the Necrolyte Cysts

From the base area, head to the purple glowing tree-like jellyfish plants nearby. The Necrolyte Cysts grow on top of the small pod structures.

Use the Multi-Tool to pluck them. You need two cysts for each batch of Strong Acid.

Step 6: Return South

After collecting what you need, head back south to your base or any nearby safe staging point.

Important Items

Necrolyte Cyst

This is the resource needed for crafting Strong Acid. It is not found loose on the ground. You have to harvest it from the tops of the small pods on the purple glowing plants.

Strong Acid

Strong Acid is the reason for making this trip. Each craft requires two Necrolyte Cysts, so gather more than one pair if you want to avoid repeating the route immediately.

Multi-Tool

Bring the Multi-Tool so you can pluck the cysts from the plant pods. Without it, you cannot harvest them.

Welcome Home Base

This broken settlement is the main mid-route landmark and a useful oxygen stop. If you get disoriented in the current path, this is the place you are trying to reach.

Key Notes and Tips

  • The route is much easier if you already recognize the giant monolith and the far edge base area.
  • The ravine beside the broken rubble is the important entrance. Missing it can send you off course.
  • If you do not have upgraded oxygen tanks, treat Welcome Home Base as your recovery point.
  • The cysts are on top of the pod structures, not lower on the plant body.
  • Count your harvest carefully since each Strong Acid craft costs two cysts.

Tips and Tricks

  • Collect extra Necrolyte Cysts in one trip so you do not have to rerun the whirlpool route every time you need Strong Acid.
  • Use the current instead of fighting it. The whirlpool path is the fastest way to the settlement.
  • If you have already built a base nearby, use it as your return anchor and head south once your inventory is full.
  • Scan the purple glowing area carefully before leaving, since the harvest nodes can blend into the plant shape if you rush.

Summary

For a reliable Necrolyte Cyst run, start at the life raft, head to the giant monolith, find the ravine by the broken rubble, ride the whirlpool to Welcome Home Base, then harvest the cysts from the purple glowing pod plants with your Multi-Tool. Bring enough oxygen or use the base as an air stop, and gather at least two cysts per Strong Acid craft.

Build the Processor, queue Strong Acid, and keep an eye on your base power while it runs.
