Subnautica 2 Strong Acid Guide — Processor Blueprint, Necrolized Cysts & Crafting Recipe
Strong Acid requires two things that are conveniently close together: the Processor blueprint and Necrolized Cysts. Starting north of the escape pod near the Angel Plant, head past Camp One, drop into the gorge, ride the current to the Welcome Home Base, scan the Processor, then move southwest to harvest cysts from the hanging balloon growths with the Multi-Tool. Build the Processor, queue Strong Acid, and keep an eye on your base power while it runs.

Guide Background
Strong Acid is locked behind both a material requirement and a machine requirement. You need Necrolized Cysts to make it, and you also need to unlock the Processor before you can craft it at all.
The good part is that both are found in the same general area. The route starts north of the escape pod, around the Angel Plant area where you get the adaptation that lets you eat local wildlife. From there, keep pushing farther north toward Camp One and the nearby gorge.
You should already have a Multi-Tool and enough mobility to move through the area comfortably. Extra oxygen helps, since part of the route dips into a base below the waterline.
Operation Steps
Step 1: Head north from the escape pod
Start at the escape pod and move north until you reach the Angel Plant landmark. This is the same area tied to the adaptation upgrade for eating local wildlife, so it is a useful point of reference if you have already been there.
Keep going north beyond that point until you reach the broken-down base known as Camp One.
Step 2: Drop into the gorge beside Camp One
At Camp One, look for the gorge down to the left side of the base. Go down into it.
Inside the gorge, there is a small jet stream/current that carries you toward the base you need to search next.
Step 3: Reach the Welcome Home Base and scan the Processor
Follow the current to the base marked Welcome Home.
If your oxygen is running low when you arrive, surface into the base for air first. After that, head into the room indicated inside the structure and look for the Processor.
Scan the Processor blueprint there. Once scanned, you will be able to build it back at your base.
Step 4: Move southwest from the base to find Necrolized Cysts
From the Welcome Home Base, head southwest.
Look slightly up and to the left of the base for clusters of hairy, tentacle-like plants. These are the growths you want.
The Necrolized Cysts are attached to the tops of the small hanging balloon-like pods on these plants.
Step 5: Use the Multi-Tool to harvest the cysts
Equip the Multi-Tool and pop the cysts off the hanging growths.
Collect what you need, then head back to base. The cysts regrow, so this can be a repeatable farming spot if you need more Strong Acid later.
Step 6: Build the Processor and craft Strong Acid
After building the Processor at your base, place the Necrolized Cysts into it and select Strong Acid from the available recipes.
It takes two cysts per Strong Acid.
Once processing finishes, open the output slot and collect the completed Strong Acid.
Important Items
Processor Blueprint
The Processor is found inside the Welcome Home Base. You must scan it before Strong Acid crafting becomes available.
Necrolized Cysts
These come from the balloon-like growths attached to the hairy tentacle plants southwest of the Welcome Home Base. Harvest them with the Multi-Tool.
Multi-Tool
You need the Multi-Tool to remove the cysts from the plants.
Angel Plant Area
This area serves as the main navigation marker for the route. If you know where you gained the adaptation to eat local wildlife, you already know the right direction to start.
Key Notes and Tips
- The Processor and Necrolized Cysts are close enough together to gather on one run.
- The base route involves an oxygen dip, so take a breath as soon as you reach the interior if needed.
- Necrolized Cysts regrow, making this a reliable material spot.
- Strong Acid crafting is not instant. You need to queue it in the Processor and collect it from the output when it finishes.
- The Processor uses a lot of power.
Tips and Tricks
- If your base runs mainly on solar power, do not leave the Processor running through the night while away from the keyboard.
- A drained base can leave you without enough power to keep systems running, which can become dangerous fast.
- Since the Processor supports queued production, it is efficient to load several jobs at once and come back later, as long as your power setup can handle it.
- When farming cysts, remember the visual cue: look for hanging balloon pods above hairy tentacle plants, not random flora nearby.
Summary
To get Strong Acid, head north from the escape pod past the Angel Plant area to Camp One, drop into the gorge, and ride the current to the Welcome Home Base to scan the Processor. Then move southwest, harvest Necrolized Cysts from the balloon growths with the Multi-Tool, and process two cysts into Strong Acid back at base. The route is short, the materials regrow, and the only real catch is making sure your power supply can handle the Processor.
